Supplementary Regulations for the Kennetcook Conundrum Rally.

The event will be held under the general competition regulations of the Canadian Association of Rally Sport (CARS) and the Regulations of Atlantic Region Motor Sports Inc. (ARMS). Status: This is the second event in the ARMS/CARS 2013 Navigational Rally Championship.

Start Location: Tri County Community Room. 2nd Level, Sobeys Elmsdale, Nova Scotia.

Finish Location: Bitar’s Pizza Pasta and Grill, 689 Hwy 2, Elmsdale Nova Scotia.

Approximate length: 221.77 km, approximately 70% paved.

Schedule: Sat. November 09, 2013

1500hrs Registration opens.
1545hrs Novice Rally School starts.
1600hrs Introduction of Officials and Driver’s Briefing; Registration closes.
1630hrs Car 0 starts rally. Experienced first, novice to follow.
2038hrs Car 0 finishes rally. (subject to final timing)
2115hrs Approximately: Results and Awards

Classes: Novice, Experienced and Equipped, classified as per A.R.M.S. regional rally regulations.

Description: This is a Regional Navigational Rally, Novice instructions will be simple involving mostly attention to signs and landmarks as well as measured distances. Experienced instructions will vary. Speeds will be slow to moderate based on population density and weather.

Most of the route is contained on topographic maps 11E04 Kennetcook.

Entries/Eligibility: Entries must include the entry form & payment (post dated cheques not accepted) Entries may be mailed to the registrar, address above, or made in person (subject to space limitations) until 1630hrs the day of the event.

Official waiver at the event must be signed by all competitors, failure to do so will result in exclusion. Valid proof of registration, license and insurance must be shown at event registration desk. Any team with members who are under 18 years of age must have a minor participant waiver completed.

Cost: The entry fee is $30.00 per car. *

*= In the interest of increasing interest in rallying in neighbouring areas of the region, there will be a promotional rate of $20 per car for teams from New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton. Please have your membership for NBSCC, MMSC, FMC or VMI current as it is likely only BAC and ASCC memberships will be available at the start.

Awards: Dash plaques for top 3 places in each class.

Scoring: All cars will be penalized 1 (one) point for each minute early or late at any control. Maximum points for missed control, or maximum early/late penalty at a control for this event is 30 points. Time out at controls will be the 00 second mark of the 2nd minute following time in (eg IN: 3:12:40 OUT: 3:14:00) except where spacing of departures is needed.

Maximum Lateness:

Maximum permitted lateness to qualify for check-in at controls will be 30 minutes for the first 3 sections (excluding odometer check), and 45 minutes for subsequent controls except one hour at the final control.

Starting order: A seeded draw will be held for experience class on October 31th, 2013.

Novice entries will start in order of receipt of registration.

Recommended Equipment:
=Sharp eyes, a clip board, pens, and a calculator (electronic or mental)
=Digital Watch you can set.
=A cell phone, tow rope, and warning triangle in unlikely case of mishap
=Water, blanket, fire extinguisher, and protein bar or similar.
=This is a night event. Interior lighting for map reading at night is strongly recommended.
=Working trip odometer.
