March 29th RallyCross Cancelled

In a now-familiar refrain the upcoming (and final) RallyCross of the season scheduled for Atlantic Motorsport Park on March 29th has been cancelled. The recent excess of snow blanketing all of Nova Scotia has left both AMP and Scotia Speed World (as well as many city streets!) inaccessible.

RallyCrossers are reminded of the meeting taking place this Saturday in Halifax concerning the RallyCross seasons past, present and future where I’m sure lots and lot accessibility will be a subject of discussion! All are welcome to attend! See the information in the Event Calendar.

Rally Updates – March 8th RallyCross Cancelled

*sigh* I don’t like writing these posts but it has come to pass again. The RallyCross for this Sunday, March th, has been Cancelled due to lot conditions and forecasted weather. For more information see the post on the ARMS Forum here. Two of our available lots are impassable due to existing snow and ice coverage and one lot is currently unavailable due to other users. Cross your fingers for the last event of the season on March 29th!

In other news, on Saturday, March 28th we will be holding two Rally information sessions in Halifax for all interested parties.

From 10-3 PM will be a Navigational Rally Organizers school which will cover everything from picking roads, setting up checkpoints, managing volunteers, insurance, permissions, creating directions, scoring, the rules etc. and of course answer any questions you might have about setting up a navigational rally.

From 3-6 PM we’ll switch gears to RallyCross and talk about the state of the RallyCross series and how to grow and maintain our sport!

For more information and to RSVP for the Navigational Rally School click here or for the RallyCross meeting click here. All are welcome to either or both sessions!

March 1st RallyCross CANCELLED

Unfortunately mother nature continues to frown on RallyCross this season. The continual combinations of heavy snow, warmer temperatures leading to rain, then flash freezing have left Atlantic Motorsport Park pretty much impassable without industrial equipment and the lot at Scotia Speed World is currently occupied with parked overflow vehicles. We hope that the next event, scheduled for March 15th, will be our return to sideways fun!

For official details see the ARMS forum post here.
