Nova Scotia attacks the Baie!

This weekend marked the Rallye Baie des Chaleurs, the second round of the Canadian National Rally Championship which took place in New Richmond, Quebec. On hand were two teams from Nova Scotia to try out their skill and their vehicles on some of the most challenging and exciting roads the province of Quebec has to offer!

Once again Mal Swann and Martin Cadieux strapped into their rotary-powered 79 RX7 for the ride, but their day was unfortunately cut short by unrepairable steering issues after two of the ten stages.

Jonathan Conrad and Tim Dine made their first appearance at the Baie in Jonathan’s 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX and finished the regional portion of the rally, securing a 12th position overall in the East Canada Rally Championship out of 26 cars! Great job, guys!

2016 marks the 39th running of the historic Rallye Baie des Chaleurs which featured competitors from coast to coast and even Central America! For the first time RallyeBDC is featured as part of the international FIA NACAM Rally Championship as the 3rd event in their season. The NACAM Championship consists of events in Central, South and North America with this being their first foray to Canadian stages.
